Simple Gluten-Free Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour (look for a blend that includes xanthan gum, or add it according to package directions)
  • 1 packet instant yeast (ensure it’s gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (approximately 110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter comes together. Gluten-free bread dough will be more like a thick batter than traditional bread dough.
  3. Grease a standard bread loaf pan and transfer the bread batter into the pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  4. Cover the pan with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until the dough has risen to just below the rim of the pan.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Once the dough has risen, bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your homemade gluten-free bread.
